Housesketching is a 144-page paperback instructional artbook on sketching houses with markers. The artist and author is Albert Kiefer (Housesketcher), a freelance concept artist from the Netherlands. He has more than 280K followers on his Instagram page where he shares his sketches, and he also has a Youtube channel where he shares his process.
This book is for those who like sketching, architecture and/or want to learn a new skill. The tools you'll need are alcohol markers since that's Albert's tool of choice.
The book is filled with many practical drawing tips and techniques. You'll learn how to use your artistic license to enhance certain scenes, how to use colours, light and shadows, understand perspective, composition and depth. There are also several QR codes that you can scan to watch a video of the technique in action.
15 step-by-step tutorials are included for practice purposes and the reference photos are printed big enough. All the colours used are listed.
And lastly of course, the sketches in this book are beautiful. This is a book one can pick up occasionally just to get inspired.
