Looking for a project-based tutorial style eBook for learning Adobe InDesign or Illustrator? You might want to check out some of the ebooks by Designtuitive.com.

The books are written by UK based graphic designer Peter Bone. He also teaches hands-on graphic software courses for beginners and professionals.

He has kindly sent me two e-books to look at. One's Creating Flyers, Postcards & Posters with InDesign (Intuitive InDesign) and the other's Creating Logos from Triangles.

Creating Flyers, Postcards & Posters with InDesign (Intuitive InDesign)
There are several InDesign e-books in the Intuitive InDesign series. This is one of them. Each one deals with a particular project or topic.

For the one I have above, it covers creating flyers, posters and postcards.

The tutorials are step-by-step throughout. Instructions are easy to follow, screenshots are big, and the projects are simple to rebuild. You'll learn the tools required for the job, not all (that you'll need the manual), and at the end of it should be proficient to do things on your own.

Creating Logos from Triangles (Intuitive Illustrator)

For the Illustrator books, so far the titles are all about creating icons, e.g. creating icons from type, rounded rectangles, triangles, circles.

These also feature also step-by-step guided tutorials. It goes through the techniques and tools you need to move and manipulate the lines, shapes and points.

The e-books are sold at Designtuitive.com and also on Amazon.co.uk as Kindle e-books. Bundle deals on the author's website. On Amazon UK, you can preview the pages.

The presentation format of the e-books seems to be better suited for reading on the iPad.
