An interesting art project called Foundin Singapore (website | facebook) will be featured during the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2014- Art & the People (8 – 19 January 2014).

Premise

Some of us meet our best friends in school and some meet at the cafe that both of them have to work part-time in, to pay the bills.

Some meet their husbands or wives at the library when they happen to pick the same book at the same time and some others meet their future band members while 'air-drumming' at a 'Kings of Convenience' gig downtown.

And a handful of us might meet someone special for a few hours, perhaps on a train ride from Budapest to Vienna, but might never meet again after that. Our little project, F

Foundin hopes to be one of the many reasons people get to meet someone special through the little things in life.

Foundin Singapore is a city installation of tiny figurines scattered around in public places, waiting to be found in Singapore from 8 - 19 January 2014.

These tiny figurines are all hand-painted with a few extra quirks much like our real-life selves, unique in our own little ways. After which, they are put up online for "adoption", where people will register themselves with us, choose a figurine and write a message for their would-be finder, all for free.

From 8 - 19 January 2014, these figurines will be planted all over Singapore, waiting for other people to find them. When a person finds a figurine, he/she will be able to scan the QR code that's accompanied and see the message that the original adopter has left for him/her. And depending on the adopter's choice, the finder might be able to make contact through email.

How to participate

Foundin's open call for "adoptions" is now open to everyone from around the world and will be ongoing until the figurines run out.

Visit www.foundin.org to adopt or check out our Facebook page to keep track with our updates, or follow their blog or look at the portraits of our figurines in other cities on Instagram @foundinsg
